Termite Baiting Systems
Purpose
Standardise installation and monitoring of major termite baiting systems. We utilise recognised systems (e.g., Sentricon, Trelona, Exterra and equivalents). Follow each manufacturer’s manual and the APVMA‑approved labels.
When to Use Baiting
- As part of an integrated termite management plan where liquid barriers are impractical or as a complementary system.
Installation Basics
- Plan station layout based on manufacturer spacing and site risk (gardens, moist zones, conducive areas).
- Install stations to required depth and orientation; ensure lids are secure and discreet.
- For above‑ground baiting, place directly over active workings per manual.
Monitoring Frequency
- Typical monitoring: every 3 months, or as recommended by the specific system and activity level.
- Increase frequency if active feeding is detected; replenish baits per system guidance.
Recordkeeping & Client Brief
- Map station locations; number each station; photograph key areas.
- Record findings and actions in Formitize; schedule next monitor in ServiceM8.
- Educate client on not disturbing stations and managing conducive conditions.
