Pest Inspections (General Pests)
Purpose
Provide a consistent approach to non-termite pest inspections for homes. Reports are completed in Formitize and attached to the ServiceM8 job.
Tools & Equipment
- High-output torch, mirror, screwdrivers; moisture meter for damp areas.
- Camera/phone for photos; ladder for roof void access where safe.
- PPE appropriate to site; wipes/cloths for hygiene; disposable gloves.
Time Allowances

Inspection Checklist
- Client interview: activity, pets, previous treatments, sensitivities.
- Kitchen/wet: cupboards, plumbing penetrations, appliances.
- Living/bedrooms: skirtings, window/door frames, wardrobes.
- Roof void/subfloor (if present & safe): droppings, nests, access points.
- Exterior: eaves, weep holes, vegetation contact, bins, sheds, timber stacks.
Pest-Specific Clues

Risk Rating & Recommendations
- Rate risk (Low/Med/High) for each pest and for conducive conditions (food, water, shelter).
- Provide 3–5 clear recommendations with priorities (e.g., Seal gap at back door; store pet food in sealed bins).
Reporting in Formitize
- Complete the Pest Inspection template with photos.
- Note conducive conditions and recommendations with priority tags.
- Attach the PDF to the ServiceM8 job and brief the client.
